The Riverside Walk is the first mile of the famous “Zion Narrows” hike but makes for a great outing on its own! It is one of the most popular trails in the park and a great outing for the whole family!
Follow this mostly flat trail 1.1 mile along the Virgin River as the canyon narrows and the sandstone cliffs tower overhead. The first half of the trail is accessible to strollers and wheelchairs; though the last half does become more hilly with narrow spots and some minor drop-offs to the side.
When the trail ends it is possible to continue your hike up river in the Narrows or keep your feet dry by turning back the way you came. At Zion Outfitter, we provide equipment so you can comfortably navigate the river terrain past the Riverside Walk. Come see us for expert advice and recommendations for making the most of your time in the park!
Note: The Riverside Walk is frequented by aggressive squirrels who will beg for food. Please do your part and DO NOT feed them any human food or leave your bags unattended. They can bite so please don’t touch!
