Equipment can be picked up the morning of your hike OR the evening prior at no additional cost (4pm until 1-hour prior to closing time). Early pick up based on availability.
Reservations are not available for holiday weekends marked in red. All rentals are first come first serve these dates; an early arrival is recommended.

Don’t let a soaked phone or soggy sandwich ruin your Narrows hike! A Waterproof Backpack provides peace of mind while carrying your belongings in the river! Though it is possible to keep your own backpack mostly dry, there is a chance of it being dropped or joining you in the river if you slip (yes, it happens!).
The Waterproof Backpack generally accommodates the belongings of 1-3 hikers depending on how much you bring (extra layers, electronics and food). Many small groups share Waterproof Backpacks for the things that need to stay dry and bring regular backpacks for drinking water and things that are ok to get wet!
The Waterproof Backpacks are daypacks and are not designed for carrying overnight backpacking equipment. For overnight hikers it is recommended to carry your regular backpacking pack but have everything in your pack protected with dry bags!
All reserved equipment must be picked up by 10am the day of your hike in order to guarantee availability. If you cannot arrive by 10am we generally have plenty of equipment available. Early arrival is necessary on holiday weekends.
Early pick up is available the evening prior to your hike from 4pm until 1-hour prior to closing time (based on availability). All equipment is due back 1-hour prior to closing time.
