BIKE ZION

Bikes are a great way to enjoy Zion National Park and experience the canyon at your own pace. Bikers get to skip the shuttle lines and sightsee at any point of the Scenic Drive, rather than at shuttle stops only. With the majority of park visitors crowded at the shuttle stops, a peaceful solitude can be found in the miles between the stops. Biking allows you to take in the views, photograph the sights and observe the abundant wildlife that call Zion home. Park your bike at any of the shuttle stops to enjoy the hikes and overlooks along the way.

From March to November the shuttles are the only vehicles allowed on the Scenic Drive, making the experience very safe for bikers. Shuttles do not pass bikers unless stopped with one foot on the ground. Bikes may be loaded on the front of the shuttles at any of the shuttle stops if needed. Please keep in mind that only regular bikes are allowed on the shuttle.

Bikes can be rented from Zion Outfitters and walked through the adjacent pedestrian entrance of the national park. Our location is just minutes from the visitor center where the biking path begins.

based on physical ability, time constraints, and personal preference:

The Pa’rus Trail

Distance: 3.5 miles/5.6 km
Time Commitment: 1-2 hours
Difficulty Rating: Easy

Description: The Pa’rus Trail is the only bike path in the national park. It is a wide, paved path that follows the Virgin River with multiple bridge crossings. Riding the trail from the Visitor Center to Canyon Junction and back is a great family activity! The grade is mostly flat with only minor inclines.

Zion Canyon Scenic Drive: Up and Back

Distance: 15 miles/24.8 km
Time Commitment: 4-6 hours
Difficulty Rating: Moderate

Description: Begin on the Pa’rus Trail then continue onto the Scenic Drive past Canyon Junction. The ride up canyon is a slight incline; expect some flat areas mixed with small hills. Bikes can be placed on shuttles at any point of the ride. Once you reach the Temple of Sinawava, turn your bike around and coast back to the Visitor Center.

Zion Canyon Scenic Drive: Downhill

Distance: 7.5 miles/12.4 km
Time Commitment: 2-4 hours
Difficulty Rating: Easy

Description: Want to skip the uphill?? From the Visitor Center, place your bikes on the Zion Canyon Shuttle and ride to the top of the canyon. Exit the shuttle at the Temple of Sinawava and coast back to the Visitor Center on the Scenic Drive and Pa’rus Trail. Each shuttle can accommodate 3 bikes. Larger groups may need to split and wait 10 minutes for the next shuttle to arrive.

Pedal Assist E-Bikes

E-bike Rental – $79

Come enjoy the paved Pa’rus Trail and Zion Canyon Scenic Drive on a pedal assist E-bike! Let the electric motor do the work so you can spend your energy soaking in the scenery! E-bikes are suitable for those ages 14 and up. All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Credit Card payments only.

Our 7-speed, cruiser-style bikes are perfect for enjoying the Pa’rus Trail and Scenic Canyon Drive. These bikes feature comfortable seats, hand brakes, and 7 gears to accommodate the moderate terrain of the canyon. Both male and female frames are available. Multiple sizes are available to accommodate riders 5’0” tall and up.

Helmets are included with all bike rentals.
